Geoff Collier

Geoffrey Collier's unsentimentally scenes of bygone Stone. His view along Kings Avenue with the Co-op dates from 1906, he paints the old Walton Bridge as a major thoroughfare and has just produced this 1923 view of Stone High Street.

Geoffrey works in acrylics, his predominant browns and greys evoking the sepia tones of the old postcards which inspired them, with any tendency to drabness relieved by the occasional highlight.
